Light Snow All DayMonday, February 8th (4:10pm update): Light snow fell most of the day on Monday, bringing our total since last night up to the 3-4 inch range. Snow is expected to taper off overnight. Tuesday should be a great day. Temperatures should reach the mid 20s under mostly sunny skies and low to moderate winds. To keep things simple we'll run the same 4 lifts on Tuesday that we had today at exactly the same times, starting with the Vista Quad at 9am. Snowflake, Timberline and Mitey Mite will join in by 10am. Those lifts will get you up the mountain to enjoy 53 open trails, including all 3 terrain parks. About half of our trails will be groomed leaving primary surfaces of packed powder. Ungroomed surfaces are mostly powder, though variable and windblown areas remain. Our Nordic terrain continues to ski very well, and coverage is excellent. We won't have any fresh grooming for tomorrow, so Sunday's 20km of skate grooming will be out there, but under a few inches of fresh snow. The remaining 80km of our Nordic system is ungroomed backcountry, open to skiers or snowshoers, with surfaces of mostly powder. The wax of the day will be Extra Blue. If you like skiing in the sun on fresh snow tomorrow would be a wise use of a sick day. Conditions below are our projections for Tuesday, February 9th. Printable version of Monday's snow report.
